Now let us see wherever a dedicated IP address plays an important role in the Webhosting field is when we need it for setting up our own dedicated SSL Certification.
We can get into all of the matters about, how a dedicated IP works and why we need it so, but both of us will most likely just end up being for more confused than while we start.
The thing that we have to remember is that, if we need our own dedicated SSL certificate, we require a dedicated IP address. If we want to use the shared SSL, if it is provided by the Webhost then we generally don’t have to go for the dedicated IP address.
If we want to know the differences among the dedicated and shared SSL Certificates means, then we have to get into the grey area that seems to be confused a lot of people. Before we analyze the differences between shared SSL certificates and dedicated SSL certificates, let me share with you what is accurately a SSL certificate is. A SSL certificate gives a website the facility to communicate safely with its website surfers. Then without a SSL certificate, any of the information given by Website will be intercepted and can be viewed by any third person. We have to understand that little padlock we see in our address bar when we have a safe connection to our email, banking, Credit Card Company’s Website? That is created by the SSL certificate. Just think of it from the view of a security checker on a server. SSL certificate job is to encrypt each and every information sent from yourself to the server so no strangers can steal your information.
